Dell XPS 18Dell has introduced its most interesting and innovative Windows 8 device to date. The new XPS 18 all-in-one is both a desktop PC as well as a large Windows 8 tablet that includes a built-in 69Whr battery good for up to 5 hours use. It is also a relatively manageable 4.87 pounds, which Dell says helps to ‘redefine the desktop.’

The XPS 18 comes in a wide range of configurations starting from $900. The entry level option is powered by a low-end Pentium processor, however Intel 3rd-generation Core i3, i5 and i7 options are also available. It centers on an 18.4-inch 1080p 16:9 display with brightness of 350nits and a color gamut of 72 percent. Viewing angles are limited to 89 degrees, however, as it does not use an IPS panel.

Memory is available in either 4GB or 8GB options while storage options vary with hybrid small flash storage for fast booting combined with either spinning hard drives of 320GB or 500GB in capacity. Alternatively, users can opt for a full SSD drive of either 256GB or 512GB. Connectivity includes 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port as well as an 8 in 1 media card reader.

The XPS 18 will go on sale soon and is currently not listed on Dell’s website.
