Colin Jost has quietly dropped down of his perch as one of “Saturday Night Live’s” three co-head writers.
The “Weekend Update” co-anchor remains an active part of the writing team, but has decided to focus on his duties as writer and co-anchor of “SNL’s” faux newscast. Jost has also been active in writing features, including the Lorne Michaels-produced “Staten Island Summer” that was released this past summer.
Rob Klein and Bryan Tucker remain at the helm of the “SNL” writing staff. Jost has been with the show since 2005 and co-head writer since 2012.
The title shuffle took effect with last week’s show hosted by Tracy Morgan.
