Call of Duty Ghosts

The system specs for the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts have appeared on Nvidia’s GeForce site, revealing that the upcoming game will require 6 GB of RAM and a 64-bit operating system at the very minimum. The recommended system requirements only show the Nvidia GeForce GTX 780, which isn’t surprising given the game one of the flagship Nvidia-branded “Battlebox” titles slated to hit store shelves this holiday season.

According to the minimum requirements, Call of Duty: Ghosts will need an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 chip clocked at 2.66 GHz, or an AMD Phenom X3 8750 processor clocked at 2.4 GHz, or better. On the GPU front, gamers will need a Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti or an AMD Radeon HD 5870, or better. Other requirements include 6 GB of RAM, 50 GB of HDD space, a DirectX compatible sound card, and a broadband connection for multiplayer and product activation.

Meanwhile, several sites have managed to scrape up the new system requirements for Watch Dogs after Ubisoft said earlier this week that the previous lists weren’t “official.” Unfortunately, the current PC hardware requirements still take a great deal of luck to pull up, which PC Gamer clearly points out. This time, there are only two lists revealing that PC gamers will still need a 64-bit operating system and 6 GB of RAM at the very least.

Minimum

  • Supported OS: Windows Vista SP2 64-bit, Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB
  • Video Card: 1024 VRAM DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9 compatible sound card

*This product supports 64-bit operating systems ONLY

Recommended

  • Processor: Core i7 3770 @ 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Video Card: 2048 VRAM DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0 or higher
  • Sound Card: Surround Sound 5.1 capable sound card
  • Supported Video Cards at Time of Release
    • Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 or better, GT 500, GT 600, GT 700 series;
    • AMD Radeon HD 5850 or better, HD 6000, HD 7000, R7 and R9 series
    • Intel Iris Pro HD 5200

Watch Dogs is also shown as a Nvidia Battlebox-certified game, as is Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Batman Arkham Origins. As PC Gamer points out, over 50 percent of the Steam user-base are using 4 GB of RAM or less, meaning they won’t meet the minimum system requirements for Call of Duty: Ghosts and Guard Dogs at the least. Even more, many of these machines may not be capable of competing in the AAA gaming space.

Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts is set to arrive on Microsoft Windows, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii U on November 5. Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is slated to launch on Microsoft Windows, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii U on November 19.
