DreamWorks Animation SKG announced today the launch of a worldwide initiative to give Shrek fans everywhere an opportunity to become a part of film history. As the biggest animated film franchise of all time comes to a close with the arrival of the entire Shrek saga in a complete, bonus-filled Blu-ray or DVD box set entitled Shrek: The Whole Story on December 7th, 2010, DreamWorks Animation is giving fans around the world the chance to become a part of Shrek’s legacy by helping to create the largest photo-mosaic ever.
Between now and December 31st, you can visit the Shrek Photo-Mosaic website to upload a favorite photo and see it become a part of a mosaic image of Shrek and his friends. The mosaic will also feature filmmakers and voice talent from the movies. In addition, U.S. residents who submit a photo can enter to win a Royal Caribbean International cruise vacation for four. Entrants could also win one of 100 Shrek: The Whole Story DVD box sets.
Remastered for Blu-ray and DVD, Shrek: The Whole Story is a collection encompassing the entire laugh-filled saga from the hilarious beginning to the magical and heartwarming end. All four discs feature hours of new and previously released extras and the sets will also include the brand new Donkey’s Christmas Shrektacular, which features sing-alongs with your favorite characters as they perform holiday classics with Shrek-ized lyrics, as well as “Shrek’s Yule Log,” which includes over 25 uproarious character appearances in front of a crackling virtual fireplace. For the first time, the entire Shrek saga will be available together in a spectacular box set with special introductory pricing of just $32.99 on DVD and $44.99 on Blu-ray.
