quicktime_logoApple released an update to QuickTime to rectify multiple security issues with its Windows version.

Users who play a maliciously crafted movie file may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution, caused by an uninitialized pointer issue existent in the handling of track lists, memory corruption, and more. Improved error checking is now included, and additionally, a buffer overflow was previously present in the handling of H.264 encoded movie files, which has been fixed through improved bounds checking.

QuickTime v7.7.5 may be obtained from the QuickTime Downloads site, and is available for Windows 7, Vista, XP SP2 or later.
