Apple Announce All New 13-inch MacBook Air

Apple, after a long wait, an updated version of the popular MacBook Air with a Retina display, Thunderbolt 3, a new Trackpad and “a whole lot more.”

Apple has put in a new Retina display with four times the resolution of the old version MacBook Air. They’ve dropped the aluminum bezels with a glass display that goes almost to the edge. Think iPhone XR, Apples say they have used the same tech from that phone in this display.

The 13.3-inch display has a native resolution of 2560 x 1600, with scaled resolutions of 1680 x 1050, 1440 x 900, and 1024 x 640. With the Intel UHD Graphics 617, The new MacBook Air can support one external display with 5120 x 2880 resolution at up to 60Hz or to two external displays with 4096 x 2304 resolution at up to 60Hz on Thunderbolt 3.

Apple has also added Touch ID to the laptop that kick off the thin and light crazy. Touch ID is powered by the T2 processor which adds Hey, Siri support along with hard drive encryption and secure boot.

An updated third generation Butterfly keyboard is now what your fingers will be dancing on. Plus there is nowa 20-percent larger Force Touch trackpad below those new keys.

All of these new features come in a laptop that is 17 percent less in volume than the previous generation,while weighing in at only 2.75 pounds.

The new MacBook Air pricing starts at $1199 for 8GB of 2133 MHz RAM, an eighth-generation i5 1.6ghz CPU, and 128GB of storage. Pre-ordersare being taken now, with availability on November 7. Configurations are available with up to 1.5TB of storage for an additional $1000, and 16GB of RAM for $200 more.
