Amazon Releases Kindle App for HP TouchPad

Posted by at 8:34 am on July 19, 2011

Amazon has launched its Kindle app for HP’s TouchPad tablet. Although the title was already listed on the webOS tablets using a placeholder, users can now go to the App Manager and download an update to obtain the actual app. Users can take advantage of the same basic functionality that is available in the Kindle apps for other mobile platforms, such as iOS and Android.

The app enables users to read Amazon’s range of e-books, with controls for functions such as text size, font selection, and portrait or landscape orientation. Users can also create bookmarks, make notes or highlight text.

The Kindle app is also available as a free download from HP’s App Catalog.
