Altec Lansing has added the inMotion iMT630 Classic speaker system to its portable iPod and iPhone sound portfolio. The design surrounds an iPod/iPhone dock with dual two-inch drivers. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to seven hours of play time.
The speakers are managed either by onboard controls or a wireless remote that stores in the system enclosure when not in use. An aux-in jack allows listening from other music devices. The iMT630 comes in either all black or black with red or blue accent color.
Altec is making two apps available the speakers. With Music Mood (free, App Store) users can customize their listening experience using either preset options or a seven-band graphic equalizer. The app also includes is the Ambient Sound library, which provides several “serene” sounds, including a crackling fireplace, a river stream, a beach, or a mountain breeze. The free Alarm Rock App is a virtual digital alarm clock complete with time display and a snooze button.
The iMT630 is compatible with every iPod touch, iPod classic, iPod nano, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, and the original iPhone. Available now, the speaker system costs $150.
