A24 has acquired North American distribution rights to Beau Travail filmmaker Claire Denis’ provocative deep space-set sci-fi drama High Life which debuted in Toronto on Sunday.
In the film, Denis’ English-language debut, a group of criminals are sent on an alternative energy finding mission in space. Monte (Robert Pattinson), one of the criminals on board previously had a daughter, Willow, against his will through artificial insemination, but comes to love her as they near the end of their journey.
Mia Goth, Andre Benjamin and Juliette Binoche co-star in the film which was penned by Denis, Jean-Pol Fargeau, and Geoff Cox.
A24 will go with a traditional theatrical release but a release date hasn’t been set as yet.
