LG has debuted four new LED backlit IPS-based desktop monitors. The IPS206T, IPS226V and the IPS236V are aimed home/biz audiences, while the the IPS2321P is for the pro market. All of them promise color accuracy and to lowwer power consumption by 27 percent. The use of the more efficient lighting has simultaneously reduced the depth to just 0.76 inches.
The IPS206T, IPS226V, IPS236V and IPS2321P reach 20 inches, 21.5 inches and 23 inches with their respective sizes closely aligned to their names. All but the 20-inch model muster 1080P resolutions and a refresh of 6ms. Like all IPS panels, they feature a wide 178-degree viewing angle, but they also have a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 250cd/m2 brightness.
All the home models come in glossy black plastic with fixed stands, while the pro model comes with height, tilt, swivel and pivot functions as well as built-in speakers. Information on pricing and release at date is forthcoming.
