The software update that would enable the PS3 with 3D Blu-ray playback capabilities scheduled for release in September has been pushed back to October.
The announcement was made at a pre-IFA press event on Wednesday night by Sony CEO Howard Stringer.
Sony has recently began offering the all-terrain racing game MotorStorm 3D Rift on its PlayStation Store, which can be played in 3D as long as users have firmware 3.30 or newer loaded onto their console.
