Verizon Adds 46 New 4G LTE Markets – Total Markets Now at 30

Verizon on Wednesday announced it is continuing to roll out its 4G LTE network to new markets. Originally launched in October of 2010, the high-speed mobile broadband network will light up the new cities on June 21, bringing the total number of 4G LTE markets to 300. The mobile provider aims to have 400 cities in operation by year’s end.

The new cities include Florence, Alabama; Harrison, Arkansas; Yuba City/Marysville, California; Panama City, Florida; Carrolton, Gainesville and Newnan, Georgia; Blackfoot, Idaho; Decatur/Effingham, Kankakee/Bradley-Bourbonnais and La Salle/Peru/Ottawa, Illinois; Columbus and Michigan City/La Porte, Indiana; Greater Portland, Maine; Greenville/Greenwood, Jackson and Tunica, Mississippi; Houghton and Traverse City, Michigan; Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks and West Plains, Missouri; Binghamton, Elmira/Corning/Hornell and Oneonta, New York; Burlington, Hickory/Lenoir, Jacksonville and New Bern, North Carolina; Bedford and Sharon/Farrell/Hermitage, Pennsylvania; Anderson, Florence and Greenwood, South Carolina; Lufkin/Nacogdoches, Midland, San Angelo and Waco, Texas; Danville, Virginia; Ashland, Kentucky/Huntington, and Logan, West Virginia; Fond du Lac, Janesville/Beloit and Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and Gillette, Wyoming.

Existing markets in 22 cities that will be expanded to cover a larger area, also on June 21, include Denver and Fort Collins/Loveland, Colorado; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania/Wilmington, Delaware; Daytona Beach, Gainesville and West Palm Beach, Florida; Hilo, Hawaii; Boise/Nampa, Idaho; Chicagoland, Illinois; Lafayette, Indiana; Hammond, Louisiana; Springfield, Missouri; Glens Falls and New York, New York; Charlotte/Gastonia and Greenville/Washington, North Carolina; Indiana, Pennsylvania; and Hagerstown, Maryland/Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia; Seattle, Washington; Appleton/Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
