Swann Freestyle HD – Firm’s First Wearable VideoCam

Swann has introduced the the Freestyle HD, the company’s first wearable video camera that shoots in HD resolution. The camera allows users to capture eight-megapixel still photos or 1080p video at 30fps, with options for stereo audio, digital zoom and single or continuous shooting in still mode. Content can be previewed on an integrated 1.5-inch LCD on the backside. The unit wil go head to head with GoPro’s line of video rigs.

When placed in its waterproof case, the Freestyle is claimed to prevent water intrusion when fully submerged in depths of up to 65 feet. Users can choose a variety of mounting configurations for helmets, bikes, cars, skateboards and surfboards, among other possibilities.

The Freestyle HD will be available soon with an MSRP of $280.
