After more than a year of iOS-only apps, Sonos today said it was about to launch Sonos Controller for Android. The title gives the same features as the iPhone app but adds voice search to find a track through Voice Actions. Many phones can also directly map controls to hardware, allowing the search and volume buttons on the phone to fill in.

The app provides both access to the music library from many sources, including iTunes and UPnP sources, as well as most Internet radio stations through RadioTime’s index. Those with access to free and paid streaming services such as Last.fm, Pandora, Rdio, Rhapsody, Sirius XM and Spotify can also get access to their accounts.

The app is due to reach Android Market in late March. Using it requires at least Android 2.1 with a 320×480 or larger screen resolution. The app will be free and should work with any Sonos output device.
