Sony announced Skype will be available later today on the PlayStation Vita.
Users can make both voice and video calls on the app. Skype will run in “background mode,” so if someone is playing a game on Vita, they can pause action, take the call, then return to the game.
Calls between Skype users is free, and users can purchase credits to make calls to landlines or mobile phones.
The app is available on both the Wi-Fi-only and 3G versions of the device.
