Razer Announces iPhone-Friendly Electra Gaming Headphones

Razer diphas entered into the over-the-ear mobile audio with the Electra headset. The over-the ear headset still has leatherette pads and a thick, flexible headband but is small enough to work for commutes and other listening on foot. They also carry an in-line mic and remote that work with iPhones as well as, officially, BlackBerry, and HTC-made phones.

The focus on gamers and a younger overall crowd tune the 40mm drivers towards bass but are still supposed to be balanced. The audio cables are detachable both to prevent a break and to leave room for longer replacements. Although the cups are designed to act as passive noise isolation, Razer vows enough ventilation that they stay comfortable for long periods.

An Electra set comes only in a two-tone black and green but costs a relatively modest $60. Stores will start carrying the gear in October.
