New Video Explains How X-Men: Apocalypse Filmed That Quicksilver Scene!

Apocalypse is 20th Century Fox‘s latest chapter in the X-Men movie franchise hits theaters. As you probably suspected ever since it was announced that Days of Future Past‘s Evan Peters would be reprising his fan-favorite role, the film offers a brand-new Quicksilver scene. If you’ve already caught Apocalypse, you might be surprised to learn that much of the new Quicksilver scene was filmed practically! In a new featurette released today by the studio, you can find out how director Bryan Singer and his crew used a Phantom camera traveling at 90mph to catch Peter Maximoff’s mutant powers in action. Go behind the scenes of Apocalypse‘s Quicksilver scene in the player below!

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse also stars Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Lucas Till as Havok, Evan Peters as Quicksilver and newcomers Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee. Oscar Isaac is starring as the film’s title antagonist.
