Motorola has taken the covers off its latest handset, the Atrix HD. As the logo on the front of the handset gives away, the device is headed for AT&T. Also notable is that it has adopted the recent trend of using on screen navigational controls.

The Atrix HD has drawn from the Kevlar stylings of its popular RAZR stablemates and will come in black and white options. Its namesake HD display is 4.5-inches with a 720×1280 resolution, which protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by an unspecified 1.5GHz dual-core processor matched with 1GB of RAM. Internal memory is just 8GB, although it includes a microSD slot capable of holding up to 32GB. It uses a micro SIM while it will work on WCDMA, HSDPA and 4G LTE networks.

The rear camera is 8-megapixels with autofocus, while the front facing camera is 1.3-megapixels. It can shoot video in 1080p with a playback rate of 30fps. It weighs in at 140 grams and holds a 1780 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.0 with what appears to be a lightly skinned variation of Google stock OS. Motorola also offers a range of accessories for the Atrix HD, including the Lapdock 100, which launches Motorola’s Webtop Linux-based OS.

It is expected that the Atrix HD will be available by the end of July, with pricing to be disclosed soon.
