Michael Giacchino to Score Spider-Man: Homecoming

Over the weekend, rumors swirled that Marvel Studios‘ Kevin Feige had accidentally spilled the beans that Doctor Strange composer Michael Giacchino was also doing the score for Marvel and Sony Pictures‘ Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now, Giacchino has confirmed that is indeed the case.

Giacchino recently stepped in to do the music for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He won the Academy Award for Best Original Score with 2009’s Up, and was nominated for 2007’s Ratatouille. His other works include Star Trek (2009), Dawn of the Planet of the ApesJurassic WorldInside Out, The Incredibles and almost every episode of Lost.

In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland reprises the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man he first played in Captain America: Civil War. He is jjoined by Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan,, Michael Keaton as the Vulture, Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal, and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle (rumored to be Mary Jane Watson).

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming also stars Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, Jacob Batalon, Tyne Daly, and Bokeem Woodbine.

In the July 7, 2017 release, a young Peter Parker/Spider-Man begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero.
