Some of you may be familiar with the River City Ransom, the classic NES brawler. It’s from the same developer as Double Dragon and Renegade, and fits right into the same genre as those two, while taking some creative liberties of its own. While it may be true that it’s far from a perfect game and it’s perhaps somewhat simple by today’s standards, River City Ransom has always been something of a cult classic and now it’s getting an enhanced release.
Famitsu made the reveal of River City Ransom SP in this week’s issue, evidently as part of Kunio-kun’s 30th anniversary. It launches in Japan on 28th April and will include new events, combos, stages, and much more extra content. Development is at sixty five percent, but the game is still expected to release on time.
