HTC One V May Be Coming to Virgin Mobile in the USA

The HTC One V may be coming to Virgin Mobile’s US branch. Tips to PocketNow early this week had the aluminum unibody Android 4.0 phone coming to the carrier in late spring. It would cost under $200 off-contract on Virgin, making it not just Virgin’s most advanced smartphone but also one of its more affordable models.

Other carriers, such as Virgin USA’s parent company Sprint or its sister Boost Mobile, weren’t mentioned. Support elsewhere in North America might primarily go to Canadian carriers like Bell.

The One V is an unusual homage to the recent Legend and keeps both the aluminum frame as well as the signature bottom ‘kink’ that HTC had used on its Android phones until 2010. Apart from using much newer versions of Android and Sense, it uses a contemporary 1GHz, single-core Snapdragon processor as well as a larger 3.7-inch, 480×800 LCD and Beats Audio processing. No front camera exists, but it does have a five-megapixel rear camera along with 512MB of RAM and a built-in 4GB of storage.
