Elizabeth Shue Makes the Roster for Fox Baseball Comedy “Pitch”

'He Named Me Malala' film premiere, New York, America - 24 Sep 2015Elisabeth Shue has been cast in Fox’s female-led baseball pilot “Pitch.” The “CSI” and “Adventures of Babysitting” vet joins series regulars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kylie Bunbury and Mo McRae in the drama, which revolves around a young pitcher, Ginny (played by Bunbury), who defies the odds when she becomes the first woman to play in the Major Leagues.

Shue will play the sleek and confident character Amelia Slater, who’s described as an “image-maker extraordinaire” and Ginny’s personal guru and protector. As previously announced, Gosselaar will play Ginny’s teammate Mike Lawson, a handsome, charming future Hall of Fame MLB catcher who’s a ladies’ man and senses an undeniable spark between himself and Ginny. McRae, who most recently had an arc on “Empire,” will play Blip, an all-star outfielder who acts like Ginny’s big brother on the team.

“Pitch” was co-written by Dan Fogelman and Rick Singer. Paris Barclay will direct the pilot. 20th Century Fox is the studio.
