Tesla‘s Model S P100D will soon go from zero to 60mph in just 2.4 seconds.

A December software update shaves off one 10th of a second from the electric vehicle’s standing start speed, making it the fastest-accelerating car in production.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday teased the wireless update in a tweet, suggesting that consumers must hunt for the “Easter egg” before enabling it in existing and new P100D models.

Drivers feeling the need for speed will be forced to get creative, pressing buttons, turning knobs, and tapping keys to get that extra burst of momentum. (Or you can forgo the frustration and just wait until someone explains how to enable it online).

Tesla unveiled the P100D in August, promising a zero to 60 time of 2.5 seconds—just behind the Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LeFerrari, and Bugatti Veyron and Veyron Super Sport—none of which are widely available.

Next month’s update, though, pushes Tesla into the top three, just behind Porsche and Ferrari, which produced only a limited run of their hybrid-electric cars. What we don’t know yet is how that extra 10th was achieved by Tesla, but it seems likely to be a number of small optimizations to the electric motor and battery management software.

Achieving that original 2.5 second acceleration time is due to the use of a larger battery pack that produces 100kWh of electricity and offers a range boost, pushing the Model S P100D to an estimated 315 miles on a single charge.
