Nintendo this week said it will release a new System Update to the Nintendo 3DS handheld in Nov. to add 3D video recording functionality to the device.
The company said the update will allow users to record 3D movies to be viewed back on the handheld without the need of special glasses.
In addition, the update is said to offer new StreetPass challenges.
Nintendo in Aug. said U.S. sales for the Nintendo 3DS increased 260 percent in month-to-month data post price reduction of the handheld.
The Nintendo 3DS sold more than 235,000 units in Aug. to rank as the No. 2 best-selling game hardware for the month.
Nintendo concurrently sold 160,000 Nintendo DS units at U.S. retail in Aug.
