Maingear has followed up the recently introduced 17-inch Nomad 17 gaming notebook with the smaller, 15-inch Nomad 15. Like the larger notebook, it offers an automotive-grade, hand-painted choice of lid colors. As for hardware, it includes a 1080p, anti-glare screen, a 2.3-3.3GHz Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU as standard, and 8GB of RAM.
The Windows 7-powered notebook also has NVIDIA’s 2GB GeForce GTX 670MX GPU, though a 675MX and 4GB 680M are optional. Up to 32GB of RAM can be selected, and the best CPU available is Intel’s 3.8GHz, quad-core i7-3840QM.
The standard hard drive is a 750GB, 7,200RPM unit, while the top-rung model gets a 256GB SuperRAID SSD in addition to the 750GB HDD.
Connections include Ethernet, HDMI, DVI-I and, optical audio outputs, as well as two USB 2.0 ports and three USB 3.0 ports, along with one FireWire. The notebook’s average weight is 7.7lbs.
The notebook starts at $1,549 and tops out at $2,599.
