FTC LogoGoogle may be facing an investigation into its business practices concerning the Android operating system, reports Bloomberg.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice have agreed to explore potential anticompetitive behavior on Google’s part. Some companies have complained that Google uses Android to win online advertising placement by favoring it over that of its competitors.

The investigation is in the early stages and may not lead to charges, according to Bloomberg’s sources. Google did not immediately comment on the report. The government conducted a similar investigation into Google’s search practices on Android last year.

Google also faced claims that its app-bundling behaviors were anticompetitive. That matter has not yet been resolved.
