BBC star Benedict Cumberbatch, star of their show “Sherlock” will be playing an undisclosed role of JJ Abrams’ Untitled Star Trek Sequel.
Cumberbatch can currently be seen in Steven Spielberg’s War Horse and the adaptation of John Le Carré’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which expands nationwide this Friday. He’s also been cast to portray the dragon Smaug (using performance capture) and voice the Necromancer in Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit” movies.
J.J.Abrams’ Untitled Star Trek Sequel is set for a May 17, 2013 release.
