Sprint Lets Good Customers Upgrade Before End of 2011

A sighting gave away clues that Sprint has been quietly rewarding loyal customers with early upgrades. Some Premier subscribers are being given a “targeted” offer that lets them get upgrade pricing early if they exercise the option before the end of 2011, SprintFeed said. It only applies to in-store offers and needs a check from staff for certain qualifier codes.

The upgrades aren’t limited to certain models and allow for iPhone upgrades. Only CDMA and WiMAX phones qualify, however, excluding the outgoing iDEN push-to-talk devices and tablets.

Sprint is winding down Premiere and may be consoling those frustrated with the early end to the program by giving them the phone discounts they would otherwise miss. Much of the trimming back has been to offset the costs of getting the iPhone, which won’t become additive until near the end of the four-year deal.
