SanDisk Debuts Its First Dual USB Drive and Extreme PRO USB 3.0 Flash Drive

Dual-drive-prSanDisk today announced the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive, a USB flash drive featuring both a micro-USB and a USB 2.0 connector with capacity of up to 64GB in a sturdy form factor. The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive is designed for Android smartphone and tablet users who need an easy way to move content such as photos and videos from their mobile devices. The drive allows users to safely store and backup files, free-up space, or simply transfer multimedia between their smartphones, tablets and computers.

To support the new drive, SanDisk is making content management even easier with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, available for download on Google Play. With the SanDisk Memory Zone app, users are able to better organize files stored on internal and external phone memory for management, viewing, copying and backup.

Coming it 16GB to 64GB capacities, the drive has a MSRP of $19.99 to $49.99 depending on the size of the unit.  The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive is compatible with Android smartphones and tablets and with PCs running Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 8 or Mac computers running Mac OS X v10.5+. It is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

But That Wasn’t All

They also  announced the SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive, featuring professional-grade performance with some of the fastest speeds in the industry at up to 60 times faster than standard USB 2.0 drives, and providing a generous up to128GB of storage.

The high-performance SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive takes advantage of the next-generation specification by providing write speeds up to 240MB/s1 and read speeds up to 260MB/s1. These speeds allow users to transfer a full-length movie in seconds, or 1,000 hi-res photos in less than 35 seconds2, making the drive ideal for carrying video and photo collections. These are some of the reasons why USB 3.0-enabled device shipments will surpass two billion in 2016, up from approximately 600 million in 2013, according to Multimedia Research Group, Inc.

SanDisk’s Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive sports a durable aluminum metal casing. Also included is SanDisk SecureAccess software that provides 128-bit AES file encryption and password protection to secure private files while leaving the rest of the drive visible for sharing.

The SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive is available worldwide now and on www.sandisk.com in a 128GB capacity carrying an MSRP of $199.99. The drive is backed with a lifetime limited warranty.
