Samsung Officially Unveils Metal Clad Galaxy J

Samsung has officially added a new handset to its Galaxy portfolio. Dubbed the Galaxy J, the device packs a a 5-inch display, a metal back, and a slim and sleek casing. The device was first shown in a YouTube teaser video released earlier this week. Samsung then confirmed the Galaxy J, which will only be sold in Japan and Taiwan for the time being.

The Galaxy J runs on a 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 and 3 GB of RAM. It packs a 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 13.2-megapixel camera, 32 GB of storage, support for LTE, microSD, and a 2600 mAh battery. Available in white, the Galaxy J is scheduled for launch this week, and will be available in pink next month. It’s priced at over $700 according to current exchange rates.

Samsung didn’t mention anything about U.S. availability.
