Other World Computing has has announced the availability of its new OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 hardware RAID storage drive. The storage device features a brushed aluminum enclosure which holds four 3TB hard drives in hot swappable drive bays. Every drive undergoes a multi-hour “burn in” performance certification procedure that ensures the units is operating properly and can withstand demanding use. The 12TB OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 is available at $2,220, including cables for eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0/1.1, power cord, two keys for front panel lock, and backup and utility software pre-installed. In addition, the Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 is available with various drive capacity options starting from 0TB for $479.99
