Per the report, the new official entry will involve a court case, specifically a murder trial where the defendant claims that he was possessed by a demon at the time of the murder.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are expected to reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren in the film, but James Wan isn’t returning to helm. He will remain a producer with The Curse of La Llorona director Michael Chaves taking over the director’s chair.
Wilson and Farmiga are expected to have small roles as well in the third film in the spin-off series Annabelle which Wan is also producing.
