gonehomeSuburban sleuthing sim Gone Home is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on 12th January, developer Fullbright has announced.

The coming-of-age tale was once teased for consoles via publisher Midnight City, but the port was put on hiatus due to the publisher shutting down. But now the project is back on track and Fullbright has spruced the game up by moving it from Unity 4 to Unity 5. It will also contain 90 minutes of developer commentary.

“Ever since Gone Home came out we’ve wanted to be able to bring it to people who maybe aren’t PC gamers, or don’t have a good enough computer, or who just want to play in their living room, maybe to share the experience with a friend or loved one from the comfort of their couch,” said Fullbright founder Steve Gaynor on the studio blog. “Our goal wasn’t to add or change things, but just to bring the game that players know and love onto consoles in the best possible form we could.”

Gaynor noted in a comment that the developer is planning to launch it at $19.99, as it was priced for PC.
