bobs-burgersFox has a taste for more “Bob’s Burgers,” as the network announced Wednesday that it has ordered a seventh and eighth season of the animated series.

The comedy, which stars H. Jon Benjamin as a family patriarch/burger shop owner, was created by Loren Bouchard (“Home Movies”). Bouchard and Jim Dauterive (“King of the Hill”) serve as executive producers and writers on the series, which hails from 20th Century Fox Television and Bento Box Entertainment production. Other voice talent includes Kristen Schaal, John Roberts, Dan Mintz and Eugene Mirman.

“Six seasons in, the Belchers have become one of America’s most beloved TV families and we are so happy to keep them in the fold for another two seasons,” said David Madden, president of entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company, who made the announcement. “’Bob’s Burgers’ is hilarious, warm, smart, inventive — critics love it and so do fans. Loren, Jim and the brilliant voice cast continue to surprise us in the best ways, and we look forward to seeing what Bob and the family will cook up in seasons Seven and Eight.”

Last season, “Bob’s Burgers” averaged a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers overall in same-night ratings, rising to a 1.6 in the demo and 3.3 million in Nielsen’s “live plus-3” estimates. With Season 6, it once again airs at 7:30 p.m., meaning it gets pre-empted about every other week in the fall for Fox Sports’ coverage of late-afternoon NFL doubleheader games.
