Fish Mooney Will No Longer Be Part of Gotham

Executive producer John Stephens has confirmed that Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Fish Mooney won’t be returning to its Batman prequel series Gotham.

Mooney, a regular in the first season and an occasional guest star in the second and third, has seemingly died a few times now on the series, the most recent being the third season finale when a rage virus-controlled Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) shoved a sword through her stomach.

In a new interview with ComicBook.com, Stephens shuts down theories of her return:

“I’m afraid that’s it. Now, that one was it. At a certain point, you gotta say ‘Definitely.’ People die at a certain point, and that’s the second or third time they die.”

Gotham moves to Thursday nights this Fall .
