The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, The Witch) has been cast in the upcoming drama Here Are The Young Men. She’ll be joined by fellow leads Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones), Ferdia Walsh-Peelo (Vikings), Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders), Lola Petticrew (Next of Kin) and Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones).

Here Are The Young Men is described as a coming-of-age tale set in 2003, with Taylor-Joy playing Jen, the childhood sweetheart of Chapman’s Matthew, who becomes immersed in a toxic, nihilistic world.

The film will be written and directed by upcoming Irish filmmaker Eoin C. Macken, based on Rob Doyle’s 2014 debut novel of the same name. Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil) has signed on as an executive producer.

Macken is an accomplished actor in his own right. He’ll be appearing as a supporting character in George R.R. Martin’s upcoming Netflix series NightFlyers, as well as the starring role in NBC’s The Night Shift.

Here Are the Young Men is produced by Richard Bolger for Irish production company TYM Productions and Noah Haeussner for Union Entertainment Group, with support from Screen Ireland (formerly the Irish Film Board). Edwina Casey is co-producer. Paul W.S. Anderson, Andrew Davies Gans, Conor Barry and Michael Raimondi all serve as executive producers.

In the meantime, Taylor-Joy will be reprising her role of Casey Cooke from M. Night Shyamalan’s Split in the upcoming follow-up Glass, which will also be a sequel to Unbreakable. She’ll also appear in the big-screen adaptation of Marvel’s The New Mutants, due out in February of 2019.
