A Bad Moms Christmas has opened with a moderate $2.6 million at 3,615 North American sites on Wednesday as the sequel got a two-day jump on the launch of Thor: Ragnarok.

The first-day number indicates that the STXfilms comedy may fall short of the low end of forecasts in the $23 million to $26 million range for the Wednesday-Sunday period. The seventh game of MLB’s World Series may have kept some potential moviegoers away from opening night.

Audiences gave the movie a B Cinemascore, as opposed to the A that the original Bad Moms received when it in opened in July of 2016. There have not been enough reviews for A Bad Moms Christmas to generate a Rotten Tomatoes score.

The R-rated A Bad Moms Christmas sequel was produced for $28 million, with Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn returning to star as under-appreciated and over-burdened women. Their mothers, played by Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines, and Susan Sarandon, show up unexpectedly for the Christmas season in Chicago.
