2016 Daytime Emmy Winners Are Here!

Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on Sunday won their second consecutive Daytime Emmy Award for entertainment talk show hosts for their syndicated chat show ‘Live with Kelly and Michael.’ Ripa previously won Daytime Emmys for entertainment talk show host in 2011 and 2012 during her run on “Live” with previous co-host Regis Philbin.The Daytime Emmy Awards were held Sunday night in Los Angeles but the ceremony was not carried on TV.

For the second time in three years, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences decided to forgo a live telecast due to the high cost of production. ABC’s “General Hospital” won the top prize for daytime drama series, and it also won for daytime drama directing. “CBS Sunday Morning” once again prevailed as best morning show. ABC’s “The Chew” won for informative talk show. CBS’ “The Price is Right” hit the mark for game show. Craig Ferguson got his second consecutive nod for game show host for the syndicated “Celebrity Name Game.”
