When Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D last month, a remastered version of one of the best-regarded games ever, they were betting it would drive 3DS sales. The strategy is working.

Since releasing the game on June 19, Nintendo has sold more than 283,000 copies in the U.S., according to the company. They also moved 143,000 3DS handhelds in June, up 47% from an estimated 97,000 in May.

Nintendo hasn’t released year-to-date 3DS sales figures, but by my math, they probably sold around 830,000 units in the U.S. between when the product launched on March 27 and the end of June.

That means that 1 out of every 3 Nintendo 3DS owners in the U.S purchased a copy of Ocarina 3D in the last two weeks of June alone
