Frankie & AliceThe drama Frankie & Alice Starring Halle Berry and co-starring Stellan Skarsgard from Thor and The Avengers received a number of awards consideration screenings a few years back with plans to release it sometime in 2011 through Freestyle Releasing. After being released in one theater for a one-week run in December 2010, it never saw the light of day again.

Now word comes down that Lionsgate’s Codeblack Films division has picked up the distribution rights for the film with plans to release it on April 14, 2014, almost five years after the completion of filming.

Directed by Geoffrey Sax (White Noise), the film based on a true story stars Berry as Frankie Murdoch, a woman suffering from multiple personality disorder in the ’70s, including an alter ego that’s decidedly racist. Phylicia Rashad and Chandra Wilson co-star.
