Starting Today, US Starbucks customers will get an all-new portal page when they log into the internet, offering news, entertainment and health/lifestyle content licensed from premium content providers. All this will be free but only available in on the networks in Starbucks stores.

The Starbucks Digital Network (SDN) is built and served by Yahoo. SDN content has been optimized for both laptop and mobile devices and offers six channels of options, including entertainment, business, careers, local listings, health and wellness and a personalized Starbucks channel.

Content providers included the New York Times, Zagat and LinkedIn. There will also be options for social networking without leaving the portal. A limited number of ads will be served from Yahoo. The entire SDN network will take advantage of H L5 to present its content, including video. This will make the new service iPad and iPhone friendly.
