Xbox One Price Drops $50 for the Holidays

Microsoft’s Black Friday deal for the Xbox One is back for the holidays: a $50 discount on the Xbox One.

The offer applies to all Xbox One consoles, including the Xbox One S, which debuted in August and supports 4K video playback including Ultra HD Blu-rays. Unlike the PlayStation 4 Pro, it cannot play games at 4K, although the PS4 Pro does not include a 4K Blu-ray drive. Both consoles support high dynamic range (HDR) color.

Microsoft’s holiday deal runs from now through Dec. 24, matching Sony’s discount on the “slim” PS4 bundled with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Sony is not offering a deal on the PS4 Pro, which launched a month ago. The Xbox One offer also applies to game bundles, such as the package that includes a 1 TB Xbox One S console and a download code for Gears of War 4. With the discount, that bundle is available for $299.

This Xbox One discount is separate from Microsoft’s existing holiday promotion, 12 Days of Deals. Those offers are available only at the Microsoft Store, while the $50 off promotion is available at participating U.S. retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Target.
