Vuzix has announced that its Tac-Eye LT, a rugged monocular display mounted on Oakley’s SI Ballistic M-Frame 2.0 protective glasses, is now available for customers in Europe. The system integrates a small AMOLED display with 852×600 resolution, enabling users to view content from a wearable computer or other video sources.

The eyewear is available with several configuration options, including a standard VGA unit, a separate model for video sources that utilize BNC or RCA cables, and a third variant that provides the full range of connections. Each provides an inline control pad that can be used to adjust display brightness and orientation.

The display is claimed to be capable of withstanding harsh conditions, such as shock, vibration, water, dust and temperature fluctuations. Users can also detach the display from the included Oakley glasses and connect it to other frames.

The Tac-Eye LT is now available in Europe and other markets, with pricing information available via company contact.
