Universal Pictures has released the new trailer for Harriet, the upcoming biopic about the famed abolitionist, Underground Railroad conductor Harriet Tubman. Shouldn’t she be on the $20 bill by now?
Tubman was a slave who escaped and became a famous American freedom fighter and freed hundreds of slaves in her lifetime. Bad Times at the El Royale star Cynthia Erivo leads a cast that includes Janelle Monae, Leslie Odom Jr., Joe Alwyn, Jennifer Nettles, and Clarke Peters.
Kasi Lemmons sits in the director’s chair, while Cynthia Erivo has been scoring rave reviews for her performance on the film fest circuit.
Harriet opens in cinemas on November 1st.
