In Canada, TD Canada Trust will be offering its credit card customers an unusual TD Rewards special on Black Friday: a chance to buy a brand-new 16GB (Wi-Fi) iPad 2 for $299, a savings of $220 from the normal Canadian retail price of $519. The iPad is one of two “red hot deals,” signalling a drawing requirement to “win” the opportunity to buy one at that price.
The deal is part of a promotion that offers other special deals every weekday between now and Dec. 16th, which also offers other items at great savings. To enter, cardholders click on the item in the store on the day it becomes available to be entered into a draw for the opportunity to buy it at the reduced rate (one entry per TD account). The quantity available and the number of entries will be shown by 4pm the same day, and winners will be notified by e-mail and be able to purchase a unit at the sale price. “Red hot deals” will not be re-stocked after the drawing, unlike the other offers
