Following continued health struggles, Tamar Braxton is exiting “Dancing With the Stars” for good. The R&B singer, who’s paired up with professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, made the announced on Instagram that her medical condition is more pressing than anticipated — she has pulmonary embolisms and not pneumonia, as initially diagnosed.
Braxton was first hospitalized during dress rehearsal for Monday’s episode, nearly missing her “DWTS” performance. She made a triumphant return in the nick of time, but has now been hospitalized again.
“With a heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of ‘DWTS’ has come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with KEM,” Braxton captioned an Instagram photo on Tuesday of herself in a hospital bed with Chmerkovskiy. “After yesterday’s final ‘DWTS’ performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia, but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.’s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs).”
