Google is reportedly expanding its Street View content to include interior images from businesses and stores. Anyone browsing Street View can take a virtual walk around the public areas in businesses that choose to participate in the program. The search giant has also worked with some businesses to add additional content, such as photos of food at restaurants.
To participate in the program, businesses must submit an application to Google and schedule a day for the photo shoot. Google Places teams then come into the building and capture 360-degree images that will be added to Google Maps.
The company recommends that businesses notify customers or anyone else who is in the store during photo shoots, though any faces that are left in the images are automatically blurred before being posted online.
