Splasm Software has updated both versions of their single-window personal finance management programs, CheckBook and CheckBook Pro, to version 2.2, revamping the support for split entries and also allowing users to store the data file wherever they’d like, including on cloud storage systems like Dropbox. The updates also bring minor fixes and improvements.
Both versions feature a streamlined single-window interface, along with an advanced filtering system, scheduled entries, account summaries, categories and transfers between accounts. The Pro version (currently on sale) adds Smart Folders, folder management, global account summaries and scheduled entry reminders, as well as multiple entry changes.
The new update is free for all licensed 2.x users. Both the basic and pro versions offer free trials that allow users to create up to 100 entries per account to really see how the program works. The Basic version costs $15 for a single-user license, with a family pack costing $25. Checkbook Pro is on sale under the end of July for $20 for a single-user license or $30 for a family pack.
