SoundHound today announced the launch of its SoundHound App for iPad on the App Store. The app is designed to be an immersive experience taking full advantage of iPad’s revolutionary capabilities.

“We believe iPad will revolutionize how media is consumed, and SoundHound on iPad takes music discovery and exploration to a whole new level,” said Keyvan Mohajer, CEO of SoundHound. “Our app brings SoundHound to life in a new way, emphasizing both music recognition, and voice-directed searches that deliver stunning pages of rich content. The experience of SoundHound on iPad will radically change how people search, discover, share and interact with music.”

Features

  • Sing & Hum music recognition. If the user can carry a tune, SoundHound can identify and find it.
  • Voice-directed search. The user speaks the name of a song or artist they want to hear and gets it in seconds along with links to video, discography, artist info and more.
  • The SoundHound Ticker. A scrolling display of what people are hounding all around the world. By showing what songs inspire people all over the globe, the ticker fuels even greater music discovery.
  • One-tap provides fast access to all of SoundHound’s rich content, and iPad’s large screen space means there’s more room to read about music and watch music videos.
  • Integrated Pandora radio station. Discover something new and cool on SoundHound and use Pandora to quickly create a new station around it.

The SoundHound App for iPad is available for $4.99 from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.
