Sony’s PlayStation Network has gone down since last night, with little information on its fault. Sony has acknowledged the issue but made no attempt to explain why the problem occurred. Users can’t log into the network and when a fix is forthcoming hasn’t been communicated either, indicating Sony has yet to find it.Sony Europe is slightly more forthcoming, saying the system is down for maintenance over Twitter. The error code returned by the PS3, 80710A06, simply means there is an “issue with the system,” according to Sony’s support site.
Rumors are fly around the net that PSN has been hacked due to Sony’s hardware and usage policies but there is nothing to back those claims up at this time.
Sony has now said the service might not be back for a full one to two days
